Main meals on the buffet menu gave us a variety of options. I decided on the lamb curry to work along with the hot soup in the chilly weather. I don’t know which one was softer, the lamb or the butter. Truly magnificent. My partner decided on the roasted chicken pie. It would be sinful to compare it with any standard chicken pie. It could easily be put on the menu as the best-roasted chicken pie ever. I had to wait patiently for her to finish eating her fill before she could truly explain how delicious it was. I tried a piece and wished that I had more room to eat more of it. Absolutely delectable. Other dishes on offer are traditional cottage pie and chutney chicken. To accompany any of these dishes you have a choice of cauliflower with cheese sauce, roast potatoes, green beans, creamed spinach, pumpkin bake, yellow rice with raisins and traditional gravy. Again, all deliciously prepared.
Fortunately, we did save room for the desserts. I am a huge fan of baked apple pie and I was very impressed. My partner chose the bread and butter pudding with homemade custard and just kept smiling while truly enjoying it. A superb looking fruit salad is also on offer. Along with your meal, make your choice from a very impressive selection of local wines to accompany and compliment any dish.
